1. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly

• Name, email address, and contact details when you create an account, enroll in a course, purchase a book or digital product, subscribe for updates, or contact us
• Payment details when you make a purchase; processed directly by Paystack or Flutterwave. We do not store your full card or bank account details on our servers
• If you join our referral/affiliate program: your payout details (bank account or mobile money information) so we can pay your commissions
• Course-related information; quiz answers, assignment submissions, and progress recorded through our learning platform
• Anything you choose to share with us directly, by email or in our community spaces

Information collected automatically

• Device and browser information, approximate location, IP address, and general usage data like pages visited and time on site
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies - see Section 4

Information from third parties

• Confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed from Paystack or Flutterwave (not your full card details)
• If you arrive via a referral or affiliate link, we record which link brought you here so the referral can be attributed and credited correctly

2. Legal Basis for Processing

If you're located in the EU, UK, or a similar jurisdiction, data protection law requires us to have a valid legal basis for processing your information. We rely on:

• Contract - to deliver a course, product, or service you've purchased, or to run our referral program with you

• Legitimate interests - to improve our site and content, prevent fraud, and keep our referral program fair and secure

6. Referral & Commission Program Data

If you enroll as a student and join our referral program, we collect additional information specifically to run that program:

• Your unique referral link, and the clicks and signups it generates
• Sales attributed to your referrals, and the commission owed to you
• Payout details (bank account or mobile money information) needed to pay you
• Your payout history

We use this information solely to run the referral program; to track, verify, and pay commissions accurately, and to detect fraudulent or abusive referral activity. We do not share your payout details with anyone except the payment provider processing your commission, and we do not use this information for marketing purposes.

7. Course & Learning Data

When you enroll in a DavitoFinance course, our learning platform records your progress (lessons completed, quiz results, and certificates earned) so you can track your learning and we can provide support when you need it. This data is used only to deliver your course experience and improve our teaching. It is not sold, and it is not shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

8. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide our services, meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, generally for the duration of your relationship with us, plus the period required by applicable record-keeping laws. Referral and payout records are kept for as long as required for accounting and tax purposes. When information is no longer needed, we take steps to delete or anonymize it.

9. Data Security & Breach Notification

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including secure hosting and limiting access to personal data to those who need it to do their jobs. That said, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

If a data breach occurs that's likely to put your rights or information at risk, we will notify affected users and, where required, the relevant regulator without undue delay; in line with applicable law, such as the 72-hour notification standard under GDPR and Nigeria's NDPA.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Your specific rights depend on where you live. Here's how they break down:

If you're in the EU, UK, or EEA (GDPR)

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Erase your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to certain exceptions
• Restrict or object to certain processing
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority

If you're in California (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA)

• Know what personal information we collect, use, and share
• Delete personal information we've collected from you
• Correct inaccurate personal information
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; we do not currently sell or share your data
• Limit the use of sensitive personal information
• Be free from discrimination for exercising these rights

The CCPA's full requirements formally apply to businesses meeting specific revenue or data-volume thresholds. We extend these same rights to all our users as a matter of good practice, regardless of whether we currently meet those thresholds.

If you're in Nigeria (Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023)

• Be informed about how your data is processed
• Access and correct your personal data
• Object to processing and withdraw consent
• Request deletion of your data, subject to legal exceptions

11. Marketing Communications

If you subscribe to our updates or make a purchase, we may send you course-related updates, new content, and promotional emails. Every marketing email includes a clear way to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time; doing so won't affect your access to any course or product you've already purchased.

DavitoFinance is not directed at, or intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.

13. International Data Transfers

Our audience is global, and our hosting and service providers may be located in different countries than you are. By using our site, you understand that your information may be processed outside your country of residence, in countries that may have different data protection laws than your own.

14. Third-Party Links & Platforms

Our content links to third-party platforms; including YouTube, Telegram, X, TikTok, Rumble, and various affiliate partners. Once you leave davitofinance.com, that platform's own privacy policy applies, not ours. We encourage you to review their policies directly.

15. Advertising & Affiliate Links
